Sensitive on Purpose

Career Transition Support Group for Introverts and HSPs

Are you feeling that persistent longing to move toward a more aligned career or livelihood? But what, when, how?

Transitions can feel like a big tangle, because there’s many factors to consider, and multiple steps to get somewhere better. That makes it too easy for it to get lost in the shuffle of life and work demands.

With this group, you’ll have an anchor in your calendar to prioritize your purpose. You’ll have people who have your back as you regularly take steps in a way that works for you and lights you up.

The Sensitive on Purpose community is your safe container for taking courageous aligned action along with other introverts and highly sensitive people (HSPs) doing the same.

We welcome that your situation is unique. None of us fit in a box.

Sensitive souls have superpowers and we'll tap those together.

Filling now for 2026. Max of 7 members.

Val Nelson - coach for HSPs and introverts - smiling

Hi, I’m Val. I bring over 15 years of being a career and business coach for introverts and HSPs. I’m doing work I love that fits my sustainability needs and my energy needs as an introvert and HSP.

Before that I had burned out more than once in jobs that were sometimes awful and sometimes OK-ish but still off and draining in ways that confused me. I finally had a conscious look, with support, to help me discover and move forward on a path that fits.

Three key things have been essential for me: letting in aligned support, aligning work around my needs instead of the other way around, and taking one step at a time even before I could see the whole road.

I love helping you bring your purpose work to life. You set your own pace, and I gently call you forward to your true courageous self and what’s possible for you… not pushing but inspiring and guiding.

From Val's group members:

With the group, my inner critic is kept at bay.

Magical… I recently felt able to take a leap of faith in my career… because I know I’m not alone.

Truly motivating, calming and grounded.

Members come in with similar kinds of challenges:

  • Feeling alone and spinning with your career or self-employment questions and decisions, with the inner critic creeping in more than you’d like to admit.
  • Feeling like a misfit sometimes and unclear on what you have to offer. Or knowing you have gifts to offer but feeling foggy with how that happens in the real world.
  • Wondering how to move forward and have any breathing room at the same time.
  • Uneasy “putting yourself out there” in the world.
  • Craving a community of others who listen and reflect as well as you do.

I’ve rarely felt a sense of community. I joined Val’s group and it became an incredibly nourishing part of my life. Val draws incredible people and then folds you into a group that creates an easy structure for sharing, learning, and support. It feels magical. I recently felt able to take a leap of faith in my career, to try on self-employment, because I know I’m not alone: I have friends who see my gifts and will remind me if I forget.”

~ Jessye, introvert and HSP

Group members experience:

  • inspiration from what others are doing and how they’re making it work.
  • nourishment of being on the receiving end of great listening and reflecting — just like you do for others. (I so want you to experience how wonderful that is.)
  • breakthroughs in clarity, confidence, and joy about what you have to offer.
  • easier decision-making and reduced self-doubt and overthinking.
  • finding yourself taking steps that once felt so blocked.
  • practical help for new technology and project feedback.
  • new networking connections.
  • overall more fun and ease with moving forward.

Combining individual and group coaching is a perfect blend for me, where I benefit from the unique value each can offer me. A powerful combination! I’m so glad I have this one-on-one time to explore more deeply.”

~N.F.

From the beginning, the group has felt like a safe and sacred heart centered space where I’m able to connect to others who accept and understand my true self. I’m so grateful for the generosity of spirit and pillar of support the group has continuously offered in working through where I am presently and next steps in my journey.”

~ Lillian, an HSP who is now moving into a new career

Is this for you? Let's see about the fit:

You're in good company. Image of bright pink peonies

It’s likely a fit if you relate to all of these:

  1. You want to move closer to expressing your purpose through your work, whether employment, self-employment, or hybrid.
  2. You want work that fits your real life and your energy needs as a highly sensitive person or introvert.
  3. You like the idea of having a safe place to talk about the worries and find easier ways to move forward.
  4. You get that change takes time, and so joining together for the year sounds good.
  5. You’re able to get things done, at your own pace, when you know what to do.
  6. You’re a woman or someone who would feel at home in a women-centered space.
  7. You actively embrace diversity and inclusion of all kinds and are committed to treating each other with respect and humility when you don’t understand someone else’s views.

If you relate to all of those, I’d love to hear from you so we can discuss and decide together. Here’s how to start:

To be held with such care in times of difficulty is such a gift.”

~ M.H., sensitive introvert

Central time: 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Occasionally, co-working is canceled such as for holidays.

People often describe the group meetings as their place to pause and breathe, and find their calm footing and clarity of next action steps.

We’ll have some planned topics designed to move the needle for you, as well as time for you to bring your own topics and questions.

It’s a peer connecting environment that I host and facilitate so that connection and learning is maximized. I also bring my heart-centered career and business expertise as part of it, and I also help to draw out the wisdom of the group.

Nothing is forced. Everything is introvert-friendly and HSP-friendly, and inclusive. Everything is held in confidence.

I cannot say enough great things about the space that Val creates for her group members. She curates a group of like-minded heart-centered people and brings them on a journey to figure out how to achieve their goals. My time spent in the group has been incredible and I recommend it for anyone who wants to get their business flowing. I received such a great foundation from Val, her guidance, and her masterful facilitation.
~A.R., executive coach

This is a cohort program in which people start together in January and commit to each other for the calendar year. This gives you the best possible outcome and room to get things done with support on board.

The year-long cohort model is powerfully supportive, with everyone getting stronger each month together. It has an exponentially positive effect.

We would have a free initial conversation to discuss it before we both decide.

I fully expect for people to miss from time to time because… life. So that will be normal. However, I also expect members to attend as much as you can so that we’ve got a strong community for the good of all.

As best you can, I hope you can block off the time to dedicate yourself to this journey. Your purpose matters.

In the business support group I attend for myself, I notice that I don’t always feel the “need” to go on a particular day, but I am always glad I went because I have insights I wouldn’t have had on my own, and I get to keep my support team connection strong which matters for my long-term success.

RE: Recordings?

I don’t picture us making recordings, because people don’t usually watch those and it’s nice to not be recorded. You’ll still have access to the same resources as everyone and we’ll find a way to get you caught up as needed.

If you answered yes to all the questions in the “Is this for you?” checklist (earlier on this page), it’s likely a fit, but we will chat about it in a free call and decide together.

Members are at various stages and have various amounts of time to devote to their explorations. There’s no judgment on your stage or pace. I won’t push you to do anything, but I will reflect your own truth to you, and call you forth to take meaningful step-by-step action, as feasible in your circumstances.

Everyone has something valuable to offer, from listening and relating, to sharing ideas (if asked for).

If you’re not sure if it’s a fit for you, but you find yourself drawn to it, you can go ahead and use the inquiry form below and include your concerns in the form. I can answer you and we could then meet for a free call to chat about it.

We are pack animals, just like wolves. The lone wolf success story is a myth.

The “lone wolf” idea is a false and harmful notion. We are not built for self-sufficiency, no matter what you’ve been told.

We are built for understanding and restoring ourselves within community.

That is our true nature. Coming together “around the fire” for stories and connection is our heritage.

Over and over I’ve seen my clients come into groups and find the mental and soulful rest they need, as well as the renewed energy and clarity for next steps. It works, just as it has throughout human history.

Next Step: Apply for a Free Call to Discuss

Please use the form below so we can start to get acquainted. You can also use this form to ask questions.

After that form is sent in, we would have a call before we decide together about joining. You could even book a coaching session as a way to feel your way before deciding.
